A Message from the President
Fifteen years of good fellowship — and a new crest to show for it
Dear members,
Welcome to the first edition of The King’s House — and to a season that means a little more than most. Fifteen years ago, in 2011, a dedicated group of volunteers threw the first rocks of our opening season at the TRISAN Centre. What began as a small community club has grown into a home for curlers aged six to 86, playing six days a week from October to April, with social and competitive leagues, thriving Little Rocks and Juniors programs, and an instructional league that has introduced nearly 200 new curlers to this game we love.

To mark our 15th anniversary, we’ve created a new club crest — and this season it will be on full display right where it belongs: on the ice, in the button positions. Every time you draw to the pin this year, you’ll be aiming at a piece of our history.
To the founding members who built this club, to the volunteers who keep it running, and to every member who makes the lounge as lively as the ice: thank you. Here’s to the next fifteen.

Counting Down to Opening Day
We're only weeks away from our season opening on Sunday, September 27, when our Sunday Afternoon Mixed Social league takes to the ice. All other leagues play their first games the week of September 28, with two exceptions below. Watch your email for league-specific details from your convenors.

What's New at the Club This Year
The Board has been working through the summer planning the 2026/27 season, and there's plenty to look forward to: • Sticky pads at the ice entry — New sticky pads at the entrance to the ice surface will reduce the dirt and grit carried onto the ice. They'll be maintained by our league convenors and ice maintenance team. • A new nipper — Over the off-season, the club worked with King Township to purchase a new nipper, letting our ice team prepare the surface more efficiently for an improved curling experience. • Curling accessories for sale — Surplus inventory including grippers and protective headgear will be available at the bar — quantities are limited, first come, first served. Members can also purchase Goldline merchandise through the bar. Members are encouraged to purchase their own equipment — it keeps unwanted debris off our ice surface. |
