Membership

Welcome to King Curling Club Membership and Registration. We have completed our first full year of curling at our new facility and are well into initiating plans for our second season. Last years registration was a huge success with our club swelling to 350 members many of which are new to the sport of curling. We have been keeping a close watch on the leagues and have considered many of the suggestions presented by our members for future enhancements to both on and off ice activities.

Over the last year we have received a lot of feedback pertaining to leagues, times, fees and other suggestions that will make the King Curling Club an enjoyable experience for both new and returning members. From that feedback we have redesigned the leagues and times for the 2012/2013 curling season.

The following is a summary of the changes for next season;

• The Mixed Competitive league has changed its name to Mixed Team entry and moved to Thursday Night in anticipation of additional teams entering this league.
• A new Sunday Night Mixed Social league has been created and will have one draw starting at 7:30pm.
• The Thursday Mixed Social league has been cancelled in favour of the new Sunday evening League.
• The Ladies Team Entry league as been opened up again on Tuesday night in hopes more ladies wish particiate in a team entry league.
• Tuesday Mixed Social, 1 Draw alternating at 7:00 and 9:00 p.m.
  
• Members who spare will now be required to pay a fees of $5.00/game.
• Name tags will be made available to members for a small fee of $6.00.

Registration for the 2012-2013 season began March 24th and getting your registration in early will guarantee your spot in the leagues that interest you most. Spots in the leagues is on a first come first serve basis, so it's important to get your registration in early. Last year we had some disappointed members as they were late with their registration and the league they were interested in was already full. Early registration requires a $100.00 refundable deposit to guarantee your spot in the leagues you have selected, subject to availablity at the time the registration for is received. Registration forms without a deposit will be put on awaiting list for their options until the deposit is received.

Registration forms can be dropped off at the Curling office until April 14th after which they must be mailed to the club.

Please review the new schedule for Leagues as there have been changes in some leagues and cancellations in other to ensure you are selecting the Leagues you want.

Membership Update:

1. Sunday 7:30 Mixed Social is 90% filled for 2012/2013 season.
2. Additional Mixed Social league, One Draw added Tuesday night
3. Additional space allocated for Mixed Team entry (18 teams up from the planned 16)
4. Additional space allocate for Men's League

2012/2013 Fee Schedule (revised April 15th, 2012)

• Schedule allows for 25 weeks of curling - starting week of October 7, 2012 and finishing week of April 13, 2013.
• Placement on draws is on a first come basis.
• Saturday has been reserved for Club Sponsored and Outside Bonspiel rentals.
• Clinics will be available for both novice and experienced curlers. Dates and fees are still to be determined.
• The lounge and locker area will be available to all league members.
• Annual locker rentals are $25.00 plus $10.00 deposit.
• Student rates apply to those 16 to 25 years of age and attending school full time.
